A private council of AI agents

Your council. Your machine. Your keys.

Curia is a multi-agent AI workspace that lives on your computer. Run many models, cloud or local, and let it intuit which one each task deserves. Nothing about you reaches a Curia server, because there is no Curia server. That is the whole idea.

The problem

Your AI lives on someone else's servers.

  • Your conversations sit on machines you will never see, indexed and kept for as long as someone decides.
  • Your keys and your bill run through a middleman who charges you to stand between you and a model.
  • What the AI knows about you belongs to whoever runs the AI.
  • And every provider wants to be the only one you use.

Local or cloud is the wrong question.

Keep everything on your own machine and you hit a wall. The open models good enough to matter want close to a terabyte of memory, and they still fumble the long agentic tasks. Send everything to the cloud and your words turn into someone else's data.

Curia keeps both in reach and puts the choice under your hand. Ten model families, cloud and local, behind one switch. A task can stay entirely local when it has to stay yours. It can reach a frontier model when the work needs the depth.

Turn on smart routing and you stop choosing at all. Curia reads what a task actually needs and sends it where it belongs: home when home is enough, the frontier when it isn't. Less a setting you toggle, more a system that understands the work.

Underneath it, one line holds in code. A memory you mark personal can never reach a cloud model. You draw the boundary. Curia keeps it.

The Council

One request. A council of specialists. One answer.

Ask once. Mermeleanu, the orchestrator, reads the task, decides which specialists it needs and sends them off in isolation. Each one sees only its own job: never your memories, never your identity, never each other. What comes back is a single reply, woven from all of them.

A single message enters the chamber.

The Boundary

Drag a memory. Watch the boundary hold.

Every memory in Curia has a reach. Global can travel to the cloud engines you set up. Local-only goes no further than a model running on your own machine. Personal stays in direct chat and moves nowhere else — never handed to the council, never sent out. This is not a promise on a settings page. It is checked in the code, at the moment a memory is picked for a turn. Try it.

global — may cross, as your own API call local-only — local models only personal — never leaves direct chat

Studios

Rooms built for the work, not one chat box for everything.

A studio is a workspace with a purpose: its own agents, its own tools, its own rails. The council keeps building.

Officina

Code Studio

An autonomous coder working on your real files. It reads, edits, runs and commits, with your hand on every gate that counts.

  • approvals for files, commands and commits
  • checkpoints tied to real git references — roll back to any of them
  • terminals per workspace
  • every model in one picker, cloud or local

Speculator

Research Studio

A studio that reads for you and shows its work. It searches, gathers sources, and hands back an answer you can trace to where it came from.

  • every claim tied to a source you can open
  • your own documents indexed on-device, searchable offline
  • web search only when you allow it, under your keys
  • notes and findings kept as versioned drafts, on your disk

Rostra

Marketing Studio

PR and marketing work with a shape instead of a blank box. Nine typed tools, not a prompt you have to invent.

  • compliance rule-packs that know the rules market by market
  • checks that read the copy before it leaves
  • briefs, releases and campaigns kept as versioned drafts
  • all of it in your database, on your disk

Cost, governed

The council cannot outspend its mandate.

  • Reservation before work. Every dispatch reserves its budget before it starts, so parallel agents cannot race past your cap.
  • Your keys, your providers' rates, no markup. Curia does not stand in the middle and take a cut.
  • A ledger that outlives everything. Delete a conversation, an engine, an agent — the cost stays on the books, filed under your own calendar day.

Proof, not promises

Curia has no telemetry, no analytics, no backend. Neither does this page. Every request it makes is listed below, and all of them come home to the same stone it is cut from.

third-party requests: 0 — the app holds the same line.

The product holds the same line. Your conversations, knowledge bases, memory and cost ledger live in a SQLite file on your disk. Your API keys go from your machine to your provider and nowhere else. Check it here with ⌘⌥I. Check it on the app with any network monitor.

Behind the glass: more than five thousand automated tests, zero type errors, one owner. Built in the open, sharpened for launch.

Privacy, exactly

What privacy means here, and what it doesn't.

Local models keep your words on your machine. Cloud models send your prompt to the provider you picked, under your own key. Curia never sees it, never stores it, never meters it. That provider does. Let a model search the web and that query leaves too, the way any search leaves. None of it passes through a Curia server, because there isn't one. Privacy here is a set of choices you can watch and verify, not a word on a landing page.

The threshold

Enter the chamber.

Curia is in private pre-release, being sharpened for launch. macOS early access opens first. Write to us and a signed, checksummed DMG comes back by hand as invitations roll out. No form. No list. No tracking pixel. Windows and Linux arrive at public launch. We still don't ask for your email or keep your address — asking for it would be a strange way to start a privacy-first relationship. A plain message is enough, and it stays in an inbox instead of a funnel.

macOS · Windows · Linux — native on all three

Where it's going
